So here we are, again with a review *sigh*
As an IT (yeah that’s a legit term) you’re not only responsible for IT related stuff at work. As soon as you become techy in any kind of business your whole family and friends tend to ask you questions because they assume you are a true IT hero. They immediatly switch from “based pc knowledge” to “how to turn on my pc” and ask the weirdest stuff. Basically you’re responsible for their whole IT infrastructure, from mobile phones up to gaming laptops. Doesn’t matter, they will ask you.
And so i had to find a NAS for a friend.

Yoshis Island + Little Big Planet = Yoshis Woolly World [Review]

20 years ago, Nintendo released a game called “Super Mario World 2: Yoshis Island” on Super Nintendo. Instead of Super Mario rescueing the princess peach (AGAIN!) Mario was not the main protagonist of the game. Well basically he was the protagonist. But he was a baby, and Yoshi had to protect him from everything evil. This resulted in an Super Mario World inspired 2D Jump n Run adventure where Baby Mario always sit on Yoshis Back (except the transformation times i explain later) and whenever you got hit by an enemy Baby Mario got caught in an bubble and Yoshi had 10 seconds to pop that bubble to protect Mario.

Some stuff hinders me from updating my blog lately, i apologyze for that.

My main project, “Airbrushing and Modding the SNES Case” stucks cause of the hot weather. I don’t have a basement where its cold enough to airbrush something, you need around 18 to 24 degrees and (Yes i’m not kidding) at the moment we have some kinda heatwave going here ~__~ which relates in +24 degrees and not really working atmosphere at all. But everything arrived and i will show a picture of it ^-^ – no the telephone has nothing to do with it 😀

New Controller arrived ^-^

At this point i want to highlight some webshop i found a few days ago, having the best deal for PS4 Controllers. (I needed a second one for Terraria ^-^)

Especially the colored versions are compared to other websites pretty cheap.
The Controllers cost: €47,83 for each color: red, blue, white, black.
By signing in for the newsletter you get another 5€ off, so you pay 42,63€ for a Controller, which is pretty good in my opinion.
If that wasnt enough they also deliver pretty fast, i ordered on thursday evening and on monday the controller arrived.
The package was wrapped nicely aswell.

What shall we do with the broken console?

There goes my freetime. No really, i have a deep intention in finishing my goal this time.
What i’m talking about?
I got this old Super Nintendo years ago which already got delivered half broken.
The Downside of the Case is totally broken while the upside just has this “Yellow” color change.
Basically the whole case is broken, but the SNES itself is working smooth. So why put it into trash anyways?!
Years ago i just wanted to paintbrush the upper case and do some Casemod with it, but somehow my Airbrush didnt work. Yeah it wasn’t really the most expensive brush and also the compressor was like 20 bux….but it didnt even spray a bit of color, the paint just got stuck into the brush.
My mistakes even with research were the following:
Cheap Brush Single Action, Cheap Compressor without extended tank and ofc the wrong color.
I just smashed everything (the brush set and the snes) into a box and never touched it again.
Somehow now i got this retro feeling i had to pick it up again.
I now ordered a Double Action paintbrush, which basically means there are two actions before the paint comes, first the air gets in then the paint comes out, and first the paint goess off then the air goes out, which makes the work more precise and you are able to regulize the pressure.
Also i ordered a compressor with an AirTank of 3 litre. This basically lets you have air in stock, so you dont run out of air quickly enough and ruin your painting. The basic rule seems to be having a constant level of pressure. So i hopefully get it going this time. Also i ordered paint by Schmincke, one very known brand for airbrush colors.
But the first task is to clean the hell out of that board. Its messy, dirty, dusty and full of some sorta glue. I ordered contact spray to prepare the cleaning for the board. It may all come this week, so i hope i can update the status of this project on sunday again ^-^.

+20 years in one Picture

#Background:

From friday on, a friend of mine was looking at my PSN Trophies and we were talking bout the games i finished on 100%. We talked about the different difficultys and how time consuming some games are to complete. And he decided he wants to get his own platinum trophy aswell, but he couldnt find a single game easy to complete. He thought about dishonored which has a time estimation of 20-30 hours and on a scale from 1 to 10 it has a 3-4 difficulty rating. So easy doable. Sadly his hdmi cable broke so he couldnt play it anyways. But while we were talking about all the stuff i thought to myself, its a long time since i finished a game completly. My last major game was Final Fantasy X HD 1 year ago, which took me around 100 hours i’d say. But Sera and Me are playing Terraria on PS3 at the moment very often in the evening. So i decided Terraria will be the challenge. Yesterday we finally managed to hollow our world, now only 4 trophies are left. We’re on good pace guys ^-^

Apart from that, it’s sunday again, so we decided to go to the second hand market again really early today.
While resuming the whole platinum trophy talk i thought about buying Walking Dead for PS4 since it’s supposed to be a really good game and the Plat is doable in one siting (not as time consuming as Terraria of course)
And while talking to my favorite merchant old lady, i also bought Terraria for PS4 for a really good price.
Good thing: It’s cross plattform, so i can use the savegames from my PS3 copy and play it on PS4. The Main reason to play it on PS4 is to be able to stream it without the need of setting up much. (PS4 share functionality is awesome ^^)
But Sera had enough of terraria and wanted Minecraft aswell,
i’m not sure how to feel about that game thou. I always try to stay distant of Minecraft since it got really overhyped in my opinion.

And yeah, some Mega Drive games got into my hand aswell ^-^ lucky me! Maybe i will soon show my full Mega Drive Collection, since it evolved a bit during the last year (>°°)>

Final Fantasy VII Remake – Update A.N.N.O.U.N.C.E.D.

Now its official,
on the E3 press conference, sony announced what were waiting for almost 20 years now.
Fanboys prepare your hype and be ready. The Final Fantasy VII Remake is officially announced.
Let’s just mark one source for this information, even knowing there is a variety of them:

What needs to be said is that this will break down a storm of “believers” mentioning to all the “non-believers” that they knew it all the time. Let’s be honest, noone of us knew it but lets all be happy about it.
Sure there are people now who sit it out, wait until a few more trailers show up and stay patient, because there is a high potential of stuff which can go wrong.
For example:
– messing up the battle system
– messing up the graphical surrounding
– messing up the story by inserting various senseless new characters
– messing up the expectations (and this will be the toughest challenge since everyone has its own expectations about a remake and its Square’s goal to fulfill atleast everyones main expectation about the remake)

But also there will be totally excited people like me, making ff vii theme/o.s.t. noises the whole way to work. It’s like the biggest dream for many gamers that their most favorite (maybe even overrated) game gets its remake.
And i just hope it will bring back all the memories. It will be Squares chance to get back all the ones who were disappointed about the newer Final Fantasy games because “they are not like the old ones”, sitting in their living rooms on release date remembering where they sit 20 years ago and just get the experience they waited for so long.

The only other thing we’re all waiting for now is a timer til release date.
So we can set all our countdowns to know when we need to take our whole holidays in one sitting. ^-^

I don’t know about you, but this gets me down to the point where i want to play FF VII, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus in a row and finishing it all with Advent Children.

Finally, new rumors to break my heart again, I mean….or not?! Is it true?! Will it happen?! Based on a person who heard from a person who heard from the brother of another person that the dad of the person is working for a company where the coworker heard from a person that a person heard from Siliconera that Siliconera heard from Square Enix that they are working on a Remake for Final Fantasy VII for PS4, and this time they didnt speak about the FF7 Console Port. They were supposed to talk about a REAL remake.

Its also rumored that it will be announced at the E3 during Square Enix press conferences tomorrow at 16.06.2015 3AM or 7PM  GMT +2

Can’t connect to network shares due to time problems

You ever had trouble to connect to network shares?

Following situation:
You have several network shares mapped and some of them are highlighted with an X mark saying it’s not connected.

When clicking on them you get the following:
\\serverxyz is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network ressource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. This server’s clock is not synchronized with the primary domain controller’s clock. 

This was based on the following setup:

Domainserver X had wrong time, but every network share to \\DomainserverX\sharexyz worked surprisingly.
Fileserver X had the correct time, but none of the shares to \\FileserverX\sharexyz worked.

The client I was connecting from was a Windows 7 Client – not even in the domain – with the correct time (as the FileServerX)

So first of all I was simply confused cause, why can i connect to the shares of the Domainserver with the wrong time, while i can’t connect to the one with the correct time.

I tried changing the time from the Domainserver manually (knowing i NTP services usually should work…) but i couldn’t connect to the shares from my FileServerX.
I tried using the IP Adress of the FileServerX to connect to the network share. Surprisingly that worked, so i tried ipconfig /flushdns and even restarted the client where i was trying to connect from.

Nothing worked until i found the really simple solution for all the trouble.

Even if the time between DomainServerX and FileServerX was manually changed to match, i tried the following command on the FileServerX:

Net Time \\DomainServerX.FullDomainName /set

for example:

Net Time \\DomainServerX.Domain.Local /set

A message asked me if i want to overwrite the time of the FileServerX (and by doing that show’d me that i typed the command correctly 😉 ) and i pressed Yes~

And it worked! simple as that, now every network share was accessible again.

What it does is simple aswell, the FileServerX connects to the DomainServerX and overwrites his own time with the time from the DomainServerX so its really even again.

Not even a client reboot was needed, the shares just switched back to work again!
