Going on

So here we are again,

after a lot of months, mainly busy with my job, but still trying to collect as much as possible videogame stuff.
I didn’t blog because i lacked in time, lacked in motivation, lacked in stuff to tell, lacked in physical space to set my mind free, but more even i lacked in the idea of blogging in general. I guess its just writing down your thoughts, before they surround you and stop you from thinking about something different anymore. I dont know how to describe, but maybe its just a way to express what isnt necessary anyways.
So, but since i’m going on writing, i guess i should update some facts atleast. The surroundings may change within the future months. I will move into a new flat, with estimated more space for my collection, but also more space to live in general. At the moment i’m living outa boxes, whenever i make a good deal on videogames, i instantly put them into boxes, and more boxes, to have enough space to atleast store all the stuff.

I’m back (again)

Long time no see, here we are again.
Distracted from my job and other real life related situation stuff, i lost my motivation to
blog about my virtual life, new gaming related informations and other stuff.

Let’s summarise quickly:

I’m still alive, atm looking for a new job, also kinda busy with my actual one.
My collection (Mostly NES atm) grows and grows. Within the past few months, i
stocked my NES CIB’s up with around 20 new ones. I have a full NES set of Castlevania (I-III), and 2 times Mega Man 2. Apart from that also many other good games.

Speedruns of videogames

Since e-sports and gaming events are more and more common in our generation, I’d like to point out the “other side” of core gamers.
While most of you mainly know about the big gaming tournaments of counterstrike, league of legends/dota or fighting games, there are also the ones who fight against an invisible opponent, he’s not a human, nor a living thing in general. It’s the “TIME”. Speedruns yeah well, people who try to finish videogames as fast as possible.
Didn’t know of it yet? Well here we go~  Continue reading

Honor to a friend and how he made the best gift in 2015!

Its been quite a time since it happened, but i never got the right time to tell you a story about me and my way to a game I really wanted to own in my life.

No, its not a console game, its a *takes a deep breath* -PC GAME-.

I know i know, many collectors wont understand, but there are quite a few PC which have a decent value for me. And this game of course, has a big value for me, since i love the game.

It’s called – R – o – s – e – n – k – r – e – u – z – s – t – i – l – e – t – t – e –
[ Rosenkreuzstilette – ローゼンクロイツスティレッテ ]
and it’s a japanese PC game. How i found it? Well,
the short story.

From Android to Windows Phone – A decision of decisions

Yesterday, i decided to buy a new phone for my work.
I owned several HTC One/OneX and others in the past, some with custom Mods, some without. I always paid the 600bux for the “newest” phone because it was “necessary” to get the best performance. Well, atleast i thought it was. It was that time, when the first quad core Smartphones came out, and everyone was hyped for it to be the feature, And yeah 1GB Ram ofc, more than my first PC had!
The only thing which bothered me was that you can’t exchange the battery pack. Adding a SD Card worked, but no replaceable Battery Pack. I feared, my batterys would die after 3 years and i would need a new smartphone. But nowadays smartphones taught me one thing:
If your smartphone lasts 3 years, let it die in peace, cause usually you can be happy they last more than a year.

Daily Struggle with collecting

The more we go into the 21th century, the harder it gets to find retro games and consoles for appropriate prices. I’m searching for stuff on a mostly daily pace, but whenever i see something interesting its like 50+ € per GAME. Collecting stuff was never harder for me, still I try my best to find the stuff i really want to own someday. I also blame my Region (PAL) and also my country a bit for it. There is a very small “scene” for retro games and consoles. And they have ridicilous prices for their stuff. In the U.S.A. for example, you could go to flea markets and buy a bunch of NES games for 20bux even a few years ago. In germany you can be happy if you get like ONE game for 20 bux, and its mostly a soccer game. Well, also the time of the internet makes it way more easy to find out what the actual value of old stuff is. Just 1, 2 clicks on ebay, and add around 10% of the price you find there. Yeah, thats how most people do it. Thats why i leave 90% of the flea markets, more frustrated than happy. But sometimes i get lucky, get a crash bandicoot for a small price, or a spyro. But not the really old stuff. I’m glad i atleast got Mega Man X PAL for SNES for a still high price. But i got it, i looked for it for many years, now i will get it, soon i hope. I will show a picture when it arrives. 🙂

Final Fantasy VII Remake significantly changed combat system and cross dressing scene

Based on the IGN article http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/30/final-fantasy-7-remakes-combat-will-feature-dramatic-changes-draw-inspiration-from-advent-children

Square Enix’s upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake will feature “dramatic changes” to the game’s combat system, director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed.

We expected that to happen, didnt we? But one word is scaring the “Hype”guys a lot.
DRAMATIC

What could that mean? A whole different system of combat? No combat? Puzzle Combat? CS GO Combat?

Some casual IT tweaks

Long time no blog, but here I am, kinda overwhelmed with work but i need a short break so i decided to throw some “useful” information in case you didn’t know already.
I will use Windows 7 for my examples since i think its most common. Other Windows Versions may have different folder descriptions, but the main behaviour is the same.

In the past days i worked on many computers of friends, tried optimizing stuff and figured out that there is some general misunderstanding when it comes to computers at all.

Let’s start with quotes:

“My computer is totally full of data i think i need to format the system again, like you should do every 2 years or so”

~ Well, no! Back in 1999 it was pretty common to format the HDD every now and then, cause Windows managed to crash every now and then refusing to boot the OS again.

What shall we do with the broken console? – Part 2 ~ Preparation

Since the weather finally cooled down a bit, this weekend i was able to start the project of coloring my SNES. If you remember, i found out that my broken SNES console is magically working. But apparently the case is broken and ugly. So i started my own “casemod” project, while i first wanna start to paint the working plastic parts of the case, and in second step mod the rest of it. After everything was set up ready I first cleaned the SNES Mainboard a bit, tried getting of the most dirty parts of it with a special electronic cleaner.

IMG_20150712_184533

To clean your electronic parts – like my SNES mainboard – you just simply spray the cleaner on the parts and wait some time. The dirt should easily run off itself. If that doesn’t happen repeat the procedure. In my case i used a piece of paper to remove the heavy dirt myself. Apparently not everything went off, i will try to clean it more when i start the next session. But for now it should last, since I wanted to start brushing a bit instead of cleaning all day ^-^.
